Richard III: Bloody will be thine end – Mathew Morris Talk
Sunday 23rd March, 1:30pm to 2:30pm
£8 per person
Summary
Richard III: Bloody will be thine end
The life and death of England’s last medieval king
There is an enduring fascination with King Richard III, England’s last medieval king and the notorious villain of William Shakespeare’s titular play.
Richard III was the last king of the House of Plantagenet, the last English king to die in battle, and his death in 1485 heralded the beginning of a new post-medieval ruling dynasty, the Tudors.
The rediscovery of his mortal remains beneath a car park in Leicester in 2012 became a world-wide sensation, blending modern detective work with dark historic deeds to give a global audience a tangible connection with our past.
Join Mathew Morris from the University of Leicester, one of the lead archaeologists in the search for Richard III, and find out how modern forensic science is providing new insights into Richard III’s life and his death.
Copies of Mathew’s books will be available for purchase.
Tickets cost £8 per person. Pre-booking is Essential.
Book HERE or by calling 01455 290429.
You DO NOT need a Remembering Richard’s Return event ticket to attend this talk. However, if you want to enjoy the full experience of a packed living-history weekend (in our Events Arena), you will need to purchase a separate event ticket, available here.
