Summary

Richard III: The king under the car park

Solving a 500-year old mystery

The discovery of King Richard III’s remains during an archaeological excavation in 2012 was a world-wide sensation; a 500 year old missing persons case bought to life through modern archaeological and forensic investigation.

Join archaeologist Mathew Morris from University of Leicester, one of the leading archaeologists in the search for Richard III, for a talk on how this amazing discovery was made; showing how archaeologists knew where to look, what was found during the excavation, and taking a close look at how forensic scientists were able to successfully identify 500 year old skeletal remains as Richard III, the last Plantagenet king of England (d.1485).

Copies of Mathew’s books will be available for purchase.

Tickets cost £8 per person. Pre-booking is Essential.

Book HERE or by calling 01455 290429.

You DO NOT need a Remembering Richard’s Return event ticket to attend this talk. However, if you want to enjoy the full experience of a packed living-history weekend (in our Events Arena), you will need to purchase a separate event ticket, available here
