Learning outcome: • Help the children develop an awareness and understanding that the way of life was different in the past. • To recognise rooms and household objects from a long time ago • If they are studying the Great Fire of London, Elizabeth I or Gunpowder Plot or intend to study the Tudors at KS2 the session will help them to understand what homes would have been like at the time. • Look and play with toys from the past and dress up in costumes and consider how they are different. • Get the chance to play musical instruments from the past. • Understand the importance of the house and its occupants to the local area. • Develop the children’s speaking, listening, participation and thinking skills through role play and storytelling.
