The two-day event – which attracts thousands of visitors, re-enactors and traders from across the UK will take place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August this year, at the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre. Tickets are valid for both days so you can make the most of all there is to see and do.

Around the Heritage Centre

Medieval Musicians – Maranella will be entertaining the crowds

A medieval jester Devil Stick Pete will amaze you with juggling, danger, excitement, stupidity & audience participation galore.  

The King’s Executioner (who is much friendlier than he looks) will be roving the site

The 1485 Tithe Barn cafe is open 10am – 4pm 

Camperccino- Hot and cold drinks, paninis and cakes with veggie options and alternative milks.

Author talks

On both days there will be three talks and a Q&A session in the Heritage Room from renowned historians and authors including Nathen Amin, Matthew Lewis, Nicola Tallis, Annie Garthwaite and Philippa Langley. There is an extra charge for these talks. There will also be book sales and signings by the authors.

Meet our gallery volunteers in the Exhibition Galleries and explore the Bosworth story further.

Activity Cabins

Craft activities, including Yorkist or Lancastrian rose making, explore aspects of medieval Islam with crafts and a drumming workshop, and a chance to see a replica of Richard III’s skeleton and find out how Leicestershire Archaeological collections are cared for.

Knight School

For training youngsters aged 5 to 14 years to become squires.

Free tickets can be booked at the ticket office and we recommend that you book early as spaces are limited and very popular!

Have-a-go Archery

Within the living history camp area, the Bowmen of Bosworth are running have a go archery, for a small extra price.

VERY LOUD BANGS!

Parts of the programme in the main arena field involve cannon fire which is very loud and will carry into the courtyards. 

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome to the festival, but please ensure they are okay with loud bangs.

Ear defenders are available to borrow for humans with more delicate ears.
